Maximilien & Alexandre "Botaniets"

Could you briefly describe your background?

Maximilien:

After seven years running the marketing agency La Movida with my mother Michele De Maertelaere. I decided to join the Niets project with my friend Alexandre Hauben. 

Alexandre:

After years at Spadel and Akzo Nobel my last assignment was the BMW brandstore on Boulevard de Waterloo. For 7 years it was the centre of luxury events for BMW. I started the idea of Botaniets in 2019 to start sales in 2020.

Niets is a zero alcohol company where we produce own products and distribute products from partner brands. 

How did you come up with the idea for your company? 


Alexandre and I are sport lovers and not particularly heavy drinkers so we often found ourselves with a softdrink or water. 
We thought there was a niche to get to. People who want to enjoy a party feeling but don’t have the urge to drink alcohol. 

What product(s) / service(s) do you offer today? How has it evolved / will it evolve? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 


We have 1 own product Botaniets and 2 new creations are on the way. 
Besides our own products we distribute 5 other brands.
The goal for the next 24 months is to create 7 own products and have a brand portfolio of 25 brands in distribution. 

What is your greatest success / the accomplishment you are most proud of

The fact that we did a crowdfunding after only 12 months and convinced 150 investors to support our cause. 
Next to that, the fact that we are represented in 650+ horeca and boutique addresses. 

What is your Moto in life?


Maximilien: Do things with passion or not at all! 
Alexandre: You don’t need to be great to start, but you need to start to be great.
